Anika Noi Rose is an American singer/actress is a well-known name in the world of entertainment. Most famously, she is known for voicing Tiana the first Disney African-American princess In The Princess and the Frog. She was named an official Disney Legend in 2011. Rose appeared as Lorrell Robertson on Dreamgirls that won an Academy Award. Anika Noni Rose (born on September 6, 1973) is an American performer and vocalist. Her most well-known role is as Tiana, Disney's first African American princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legends featured her as one in 2011. Her other starring part, playing Lorrell Robinson, on the show Dreamgirls (2007) which has been nominated to win an Academy Award. And she is the jukebox player LaVerne Ganner on Starz's series Power. Her other notable roles include her theatre performances, specifically due to her roles in the lead role of Emmie Thibodeaux and as Emmie in The Broadway show Caroline or Change (2004) in which she was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical and Beneatha Younger in the Broadway production of A Raisin in the Sun (2014) for which she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Musical.
